Tyres pumped, helmet secure, route planned. Off you go on two wheels through the beautiful Iller valley, up into the mountains and across lush meadows and fragrant forests! In summer, the area around the Tanneck is full of keen cyclists exploring the Allgäu on their mountain bikes, e-bikes or road bikes. It doesn’t matter whether you’re riding solo, as a couple or with the whole family – the routes and levels of difficulty are as varied as the flowers on the colourful alpine meadows.

Hiking bliss & wide-open mountain views
Fresh air in your lungs, grass still damp with dew, cowbells chiming somewhere in the distance. Hikers are out and about all around the Tanneck – early in the morning and later in the day. Some stroll leisurely through the valley, others head higher up onto alpine tracks and panoramic trails. With its three altitude levels, the Allgäu offers plenty of variety: gentle valley routes, intermediate panoramic tours or demanding via ferratas, all within easy reach. As a guest at the Tanneck, you can reach some of these starting points free of charge with the Hörner cable cars. Step by step, the views open up; meadows give way to forests, and higher up, even more beautiful vistas of the Allgäu await (yes, it really does get better).

The ball rests calmly on the grass; even before you swing, your eyes wander up to the mountains. From the Tanneck, you can reach the Oberallgäu golf course in just a few minutes. You play at a special guest rate and against a sensational backdrop: lush green fairways, beautifully maintained holes and, beyond them, the Allgäu peaks that keep catching your eye. The trick is not to let yourself get too distracted. We know that’s easier said than done with a mountain panorama like this…

You’ll race through gorges, scramble over rocks and plunge straight through the water. When paragliding, you glide silently into the air and admire the beauty of the Allgäu from above. If you prefer things a little calmer, how about a hike with fluffy companions? A llama walk around Fischen is not only great fun, it also slows the pace and does you an astonishing amount of good.
